Owning a Skil screwdriver for many years, I bought two new batteries after the old battery died, charged them up and was very happy. ) and charger. Unfortunately on the second charge I discovered that the charger had burned out. So, if I buy a new charger it will cost me more than buying a brand new screwdriver set with a new battery ( different style of course. What would you do. I have two new batteries available if you still have a charger that has not burned out.
I have had my Skil Twist Extra cordless for well over 10 yrs. When I found these , I bought a bunch of 'em. now. Lately , nobody ( around here ) stocks these batteries. Glad I did. Long live my cordless.
Hard to find batteries work great in my wireless drill. Really like the cylinder/modular design.
If it shows a voltage (according to the instructions) it's O.K., but if it doesn't, throw it away. I purchased the replacement battery for my electric screwdriver after I tried to charge a defective original battery (it burned out the charger,too). The new charger and battery work fine, but you should be aware that a longer than three hour charge time probably isn't a good thing, and it's a good thing to check the battery with a voltage meter after putting on the charger for a minute. So, after using the first battery and charger for a number of years, I learned something, and bought two rechargable batteries for the future. So far, everything's working fine.
The price was right. These batteries,a pair of Skil 92940 FlexCharge 3.6-Volt 1.0 Amp Hour NiCad Batteries, work just as expected. I am very pleased with this purchase.
